Using grant funding from the Montana Main Street Program, Community Investment Program (CIP), and the Community Foundation of Northern Rosebud County, Forever Forsyth contracted with High Plains Architects to prepare a downtown master plan for Forsyth's north and south side downtown blocks.
High Plains held three information gathering meetings in February 2025 to assess Forsyth's downtown area. They met with the steering committee, business stakeholders, and City Council. Based on those meetings, they came back to Forsyth in Mid-March to make a presentation and gather input from the larger community. They took our feedback from all these meetings and returned once again at the end of April to present a draft Downtown Master Plan for Forsyth that included a vision for the future development of our downtown areas, including strategies for land use, transportation, public spaces, and design guidelines to create an attractive business district. We had a wonderful turnout of 75 people for this presentation! The enthusiasm for an improved, more useful, more livable, more attractive downtown was truly felt! High Plains will be sending the final Master Plan to Forever Forsyth by the end of June.
The plan will be made publicly available here for future reference. We will be presenting the plan to Forsyth's City Council for adoption.
